The piano contest "New Stars", a competition in a class of its own, was founded in 2010 by
the pianist Albert Mamriev. Since then, every two years the best conditions are created for
participants from thirty countries. The organizers offer first-class pianos in the city's most
beautiful concert halls, such as the Fürstliches Marstall or the Lyceum of the
Landesgymnasium für Musik Oberpfarrkirchhof Wernigerode. First and foremost, however,
the contest is characterized by a very warm and hospitable atmosphere. "New Stars" attracts
above all young musicians, who can thus recognise their talent and opportunities, and perhaps
for one or the other this musical experience can be an important milestone for their future
career.
The value of the event as a cultural enrichment for the city and its numerous guests is
indisputable.
